Tummy Time

Tummy time is fun, educational, and crucial for a baby's development. Including tummy time in your baby's daily routine helps strengthen the muscles in their head, neck, shoulders, and back. Developing these muscles is essential for skills like rolling over and crawling, which help the baby explore the world around them.

Steps for tummy time

• Choose the Right Time: Pick a time when the baby is alert and happy (preferably before feeding or at least 30 minutes after eating to avoid spitting up).
• Set Up a Comfortable Space: Place the baby on their tummy on a blanket spread out on the floor. Lie down on your stomach in front of the baby as well.
• Engage with the Baby: Start talking and singing to the baby. Encourage them to lift their head to see you.
• Be Patient: Don't get discouraged if the baby can't hold their head up for long. The baby's head is the heaviest part of their body right now, and it takes a lot of effort to lift it.
• Start Small: Begin with a few minutes three times a day.

By incorporating these steps, you'll help your baby build the strength and skills they need for their ongoing development.
